Junior Rankings
The Region believes the better a team performs the more they should be challenged. A good criteria for the club is to request a division in which the team should finish at least in the bottom of gold or top of silver. The goal should be “make” gold! DO NOT enter a division just for rankings. Finishing at the bottom is not better for rankings or the kids confidence. The team results overlap in ranking so that a finish in the bottom of a division is not necessarily better than a high finish in the next lower division.
FORMAT
The “Division” format and/or age groups may be used in the SURVA Bid Qualifiers. However, this format will affect the Region seedings for the Region Championships! Teams who compete in higher “DIVISIONS” & finish in the upper seventy five percent will be given a higher ranking in their own age group than teams of the same age competing in lower divisions. Teams competing in age groups within Qualifiers are weighted differently in accordance to the age group such as a 12s high finish is not equal to mid “division” IV finish but a high 17s finish is level with a mid to high “division” I finish.
Finishing higher than other Region teams in outside of Region competition is not considered as we don’t know the seeding criteria used or quality of competition.
SEEDING FOR TOURNAMENTS: Tournaments, with the exception of the Championships, are seeded by results from all tournaments within the Region such as the Qualifiers, One Day and Inter-Regional Tournaments. Each Region Qualifying Tournament result is weighted by the number of teams participating in each respective division. The Region reserves the right to move teams up and down within a tournament or division to better facilitate team requests, reduce club head to head matchups, etc.
The SURVA RegioN CHAMPIONSHIPS are seeded by the Region rankinGS.
SURVA Region Rankings as of 4.19.22
THE REGION RANKINGS ARE BASED ON THE RESULTS OF THE REGION BID QUALIFYING TOURNAMENTS. Each division in a Qualifying tournament is weighted by the size of the division and quality of teams competing.
